CHUMCHUM

Ingredients :

Milk : 1 litre
Citric Acid : 1tbsp
Sugar : 1 cup
Water : 2 cups
Coconut Powder (dessicated coconut) : half cup
Yellow food colour : 4- 5 drops

Method :

1. Boil milk and curdle it with the help of citric acid .( Refer to thee  recipe of rasogulla).
2. Drain the excessive water from curdled milk and hang it for 20 mins.
3.Knead the chena very well , add 1 tsp sugar and yellow food colour while kneading .


4. Make long oval shaped balls with this mixture . Around 15 balls can be made with this quantity.

5.In a heavy bottom pan , add sugar and water , keep the pan on medium flame on burner .

6. When the sugar dissolves completely , drop the balls in this syrup .
7. Cover and cook for 12 - 15 mins on the same flame .

8. Remove the pan from burner and allow to cool for 2 hours . By this time , balls will absorb desired amount of sugar syrup.
9.Spread coconut powder on a plate . Take out from syrup and squeeze lightly and roll in dessicated coconut .

10 . Chumchums are ready to serve . Serve chilled.
