Ingredients :
Wet Poha : half cup
Dry Poha for coating
Cumin Seeds : half tsp
Mustard seeds : half tsp (optional)
Fresh grated coconut : 3 tbsp
Green Chutney/ Finely chopped corainder leaves : 3 tbsp
Curd : 3 tbsp
Finely chopped green chillies : 2 tsp
Salt to taste
Method :
1. To get wet poha , wash the poha under running water in a sieve and keep aside for half an hour so that excess water drains out.
2. When the water drains out (poha should not be very watery), take poha in a bowl , mix curd , salt , cumin seeds, mustard seeds and green chillies and knead well to make a dough .
3. Heat a pan , dry roast fresh grated coconut and remove , mix it with green chutney or corainder leaves , this mixture will serve as stuffing of the cutlets .
4. Divide the poha mixture in small parts , take a ball , flatten it on your palm , fill the stuffing and cover completely.
5. Coat these balls with dry poha .
6. Deep fry in medium hot oil on medium flame .Serve with tomato ketchup.
Note : Boiled and mashed potatoes can be added in the wet poha mixture .
